You can get audio into Audio Evolution Mobile by recording new material or importing existing sound files.
Recording is pretty simple: you press the red Record button at the bottom left and the program will start recording from the microphone. The project overview at the bottom right will change to an input level indicator. Usually, Android applies automatic gain control. Hopefully in future versions of Android, we will be allowed to set the gain ourselves.
There is one thing to note here: when you pressed Record, a new track was automatically created and the audio is recorded on that track. This is a convenience function: in most desktops DAW's, you first have to 'arm' the track you wish to record on. AE Mobile will detect if you have any track armed. If not, it will simply create a new track to record on for you. If a track is armed, it will record on that one. Arming a track is done by toggling the Arm button. If your device is not showing the Arm button, you can access it by browsing the mixer channel pages: at the bottom of every mixer channel, you will see one white and one or more grey boxes. Slide your finger here to access the other mixer pages to get to the Arm button. Only one track can be armed at a time.
If you don't like the recording, you can get rid of it by pressing the Undo button (the left one of the two brownish curly arrow buttons) once or twice: if you didn't arm a track yourself you need to press twice: once for removing the recording, and once for the new track that was automatically created. Note that the recorded file remains on disk. You can also remove a sample by long-pressing it and selecting 'Remove' or remove the entire track by selecting 'Remove track'.
Besides recording, you can also get audio into the app by importing samples. Press the combined load/save button at the top left and select 'Import audio sample'.
A simple file browser will appear. Use <Directory up> a couple of times to get to the 'root' of your devices's sd card. Then browse to wherever you have audio files stored, for example in the Music subdirectory and tap once on the file you wish to import.
After import, the audio file will appear on a new track. Simply press the 'Play' or 'Play from start' button to hear it.
